Independent Label Market are delighted to announce they will be returning to Old Spitalfields Market on Saturday 12th July, for the fourth Summer market in London. And once again, Independent Label Market will be supported by AIM – the Association of Independent Music.
We’re very excited to announce that Martin Mills, – the founder and chairman of Beggars Group, Europe’s largest Independent Label network comprising of 4AD, Rough Trade, Matador and XL Recordings – will be hosting a ‘Beggars Archive’ stall. This stall will feature gems and rarities from the vaults of the original Beggars Banquet chain of record shops, along with classic cuts from the trailblazing set of Beggars labels who’ve been at the forefront of independent music for the last 30 years. Other labels making their Independent Label Market debut include 37 Adventures, City Slang, Eglo, Glassnote, Greco Roman, Hyperdub Records and many more!
Following the huge success of the Christmas market where over 26,000 music and beer fans were in attendance, we’ll be partnering up with London Brewers’ Market for a second time, which will feature a selection of local breweries from the London area, such as The Five Points Brewing Company, Brixton Brewery, Camden Town Brewery, Fullers, Meantime Brewing Co. and many more. Much like independent record labels, small independent breweries are currently on trend in the capital and making noise in the beer world too. In London the number of operating breweries has doubled within the past year, with their ales featuring on the bars of some of this country’s busiest pubs and restaurants.
Alongside the Independent Label Market, the London Brewers’ Market will feature breweries selling everything from pilsners to porters. Get a chance to meet some of the brewers behind London’s thriving beer scene, learn about the different varieties of beer, and enjoy some fine examples to drink at the market as well as to take home in bottle. There will be a beer garden set up amongst the ILM and Brewer’s stalls, where there will be product sampling, live music and DJ sets throughout the day.
