CHRISTMAS MARKET

Independent Label Market’s third outing was a special Christmas market in association with AIM to support the labels that lost their stock in the PIAS/Sony warehouse fire in August that year. Joe Daniel, founder of ILM and Angular Records said at the time :
“We’ve spent the last couple of months getting back on our feet and I hope this market will be a chance for the labels to recover some of the ground lost in August and September when we had no stock. It will also be a great way to celebrate independent music in 2011 whilst wearing a silly hat and enjoying some nice mulled wine.”
There was the customary host of exclusive releases and artist appearances, including one signed copy of Elton John’s ‘Are You Ready For Love’ on pink vinyl with a Keith Haring and David Bailey picture sleeve and a hand written lyric sheet from John Cale.
